For many of us these days, regular international travel seems to have become a common occurrence. Whether for pleasure, or more likely, for business, the challenges of managing multiple time-zone changes are very much a reality. Not only is it tough on your body and soul (anyone who is reading this from their hotel room at 3am will know what I mean), it can also be a pain making sure your watch is set to the right time. Sure, you can just rely on your smartphone (boring), or you can invest in a handsome, yet affordable worldtimer, such as the soon to be released Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture Green Dial.

The 2018 Cartier Santos Large Size, with New Design and Cool Strap/Bracelet Features

The Cartier Santos is back! Based on the first wristwatch created by Cartier in 1904 for aviator Santos Dumont, this legendary model had been in the collection since its introduction in 1978 – at least, the modern version of the Santos, with a steel case and screwed bezel. However, the Santos was discontinued two years ago – and for a good cause. A new model is about to hit the stores and Cartier presented its redesigned version at the SIHH. Meet the new Cartier Santos 2018, tested here in steel, large size and with quite some cool features for the strap/bracelet.

The IWC Tribute to Pallweber Edition 150 years, Now Also in Stainless Steel (SIHH 2018)

Prior to the SIHH 2018, back in December, IWC introduced a series of 4 watches, including one very surprising watch. A stand-alone piece, not included in any of the existing collection, the IWC Tribute to Pallweber is a watch specifically created for the 150th Anniversary of the Schaffhausen-based brand. This re-edition of one of the greatest pocket-watches IWC ever made is now available in steel, still with the same digital hours and minute display.

IWC is celebrating a major milestone this year and has been previewing pieces from the epic “150 Years” collection that are now presented in full at SIHH 2018. So far, we’ve seen some exceptionally complicated pieces, like the Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Edition 150 Years and the Portugieser Constant Force Tourbillon Edition 150 years, which highlight the company’s technical prowess. The New Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa Collection for SIHH 2018

Originally introduced back in 2001, the Kalpa collection by Parmigiani Fleurier is amongst the most recognizable models of the brand. With its distinctive tonneau-shaped case and teardrop lugs, it has a unique style that, if not liked by all, definitely makes a statement. Ahead of the upcoming SIHH 2018, the brand has introduced the new, redesigned Kalpa collection, which is now fitted exclusively with shaped movements, developed in-house. Here are the first three watches to be presented: the Kalpa Chronor, the Kalpagraphe Chronometre and the Kalpa Hebdomadaire.

Vacheron Constantin FIFTYSIX, a New Sub-10k Entry-Level Collection (SIHH 2018)

When thinking Vacheron, you usually have in mind complex watches, Haute-Horlogerie, rare handcrafts and a unique sense of precious elegance. Not a single word here that relates to the notion of affordability. However, the deal is about the change. Indeed, the brand developed a whole new strategy (already started with the Quai de L’Ile in steel), by introducing an entry-level collection, the Vacheron Constantin FIFTYSIX. New movements, some even without the costly Hallmark of Geneva, new design, and a sub-10,000 starting price… Promising? Let’s have a first look.

Patek Philippe 5396R Annual Calendar with Blue Dial

Since its introduction in 2006, the Patek Philippe 5396 Annual Calendar is amongst the most classical options in the brand’s collection. It offers a cleaner and a slightly more modern option to the conservative reference 5146, the sub-dial based Annual Calendar watch. In addition to the existing versions, with silvery-white or grey dials (with appliques or Breguet numerals), Patek has decided to add a bit of flamboyance to this model, by giving it a rose gold case combined with a rich navy blue dial.
