Introducing – Ressence Type 5X, Inspired by the Automobili Amos Lancia Delta Futurista

Ressence really is in a class of its own on the watchmaking scene (even on the creative indie scene). Born in 2010, the brand redefined the way a mechanical watch functions, to the point of creating an unprecedented display and an electronic crown. For its 10th anniversary, Ressence has already unveiled several special edition watches, […]

Introducing – H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Centre Seconds Rotating Bezel for Collective Horology

Back in 2015 H. Moser & Cie created its first sports-styled watch made from a red gold case. The Pioneer Centre Seconds watch almost hit the spot for sports watch aficionados but not quite. It needed to be a little more self-assured – a little more aggressive – robust even. So, the Swiss watch company of almost 200 years dedicated a further 2 years to developing a steel version of the Pioneer Centre Seconds. That model is now the predecessor to a new iteration from H. Moser, now released in a captivating Collective Green dial with a bi-directional rotating bezel, solid hands (as opposed to partially skeletonized), a matching steel bracelet and appliques treated with new luminous material. The timepiece is a collaborative effort between H. Moser & Cie and Collective Horology.

Introducing – Kudoke 2 Grüner Wald Special Edition

The small independent brand of Kudoke is getting some much-deserved traction and attention, especially after winning the Petite Aiguille at last year’s Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve. After their classical time-only Kudoke 1 and their prize-winning Kudoke 2 with hand-engraved day/night indicator, they released the Nocturne version of the latter, with a dark, anthracite-coloured dial. Now they are launching a collaboration piece with a splash of colour, the Kudoke 2 Grüner Wald Special Edition.

Introducing – URWERK UR-220 All Black

This summer, URWERK announced the final edition of the iconic UR-210. Luckily it didn’t take too long before the brand announced a successor of this staggering beauty, and to my relief, I can say it’s at least as good-looking and stealthy as the marvellous UR-210. That successor was the new UR-220 Falcon Project, which came in a carbon clad. Today, some 5 weeks after that first new UR-220, it’s time for another one. Another one in black, albeit in a slightly different shade of black… let’s have a closer look at the UR-220 All Black.

The Collector’s Series – Chris Cashion and his rather special GoS Skadi

Each member of the MONOCHROME team has their favourites amongst the many brands and watches we share with all of you. And for me, one of the brands I have been following closely since I joined MONOCHROME is the Swedish brand of Gustafsson & Sjögren, or GoS in short. The duo of Patrik Sjögren and Johan Gustafson offers very unique watches incorporating hand-forged Damascus steel for the cases, bezels, crowns, dials and more. So when I learned of the opportunity to chat with the owner of a very special 1-of-5 GoS Skadi, I just had to follow through.
