Introducing – Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Manual-Winding Excellence Platine

Platinum is often seen as the king of materials – or at least the most exclusive metal you can imagine for a watch. With this in mind, Vacheron Constantin created a collection dedicated to this precious metal in 2006 called “Collection Excellence Platine”. Exclusively composed of limited edition pieces, all of them share a unique monochromatic […]

Hands-on – Romain Gauthier Prestige HMS Stainless Steel and Meteorite

Romain Gauthier is, without doubt, one of the top watchmakers when it comes to decoration – check this… you’ll understand. His watches are mechanically fascinating, rare and his level of expertise in movement’s finishing, in the traditional “Vallée de Joux” style, undeniable. Mouthwatering material for seasoned collectors. Today, the man unveils its latest watch, based on the (apparently) simple Prestige HMS, and for the first time crafted in stainless steel. Don’t believe in compromises though, as the execution of the dial and the movement compensate entirely. Meet the HMS Stainless Steel and Meteorite.

Value Proposition – E.C.Andersson Denise – The Scandinavian Brand’s First Dive Watch

Few are the microbrands that have genuinely convinced us, but E.C.Andersson is definitely one of them. This Scandinavian watch company has created several interesting, well-executed sports/tool watches, including North Sea II and Calypso, which combined a cool design, solid cases and overall accessible prices. Today, the brand is releasing a new model named Denise, a watch that they see as an “all-season tool watch”, or a dive watch that can be brought onshore for exploration.

Hands-on – HYT H0 Time is Precious – Representing the Inexorable Flow of Time

The HYT H0 Time is Precious watch encapsulates a powerful philosophical message. Similar mechanically and structurally to other members of the H0 family, the “Time is Precious” model is unlike anything we have seen before at HYT and ventures down a more artistic path to represent the fundamental philosophical musings that inspired the brand to […]

Hands-on – Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra-Thin Perpetual Enamel

Since its facelift in 2013, the Master Ultra-Thin Perpetual has appeared in various guises, including the sleek black dial version we saw in 2016. However, I think there is unanimous agreement that the 2019 white gold version with its blue enamel guilloché dial wins hands down. Released as part of a limited edition trilogy, including the Master Ultra-Thin Moon Enamel and Tourbillon models, the new members of the Master-Thin Enamel family stole the show. The watch we will be looking at today comes with a revised movement and display and indicates the phases of the Moon in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
