The Quest For My Ultimate Fountain Pen Part 3: The Luxury Brand Period

After obtaining a Delta Dolce Vita Oversized at the conclusion of my Italian period, I was a very happy man. The pen served me very well, and I was in love with the looks as well as the writing experience that it provided. As usual though, while I wasn’t looking for a replacement, it happened anyway. But this time with some very famous brands.

Brave, Bold, With Vintage Flair – The Graham Chronofighter Vintage GMT

The Graham Chronofighter Vintage GMT is testament to a bold and technical approach to design, directly inspired by historical military timepieces. On the left-hand side of the case its signature lever allows the wearer to start and stop the chronograph with ease using the thumb – the fastest of all fingers – even when they’re wearing thick aviator gloves.

SIHH 2017 Personal Perspectives: Panerai – A Little Bit of Everything From LAB-ID to Bronzo (to Mare Nostrum Redux)

Panerai‘s line-up at SIHH 2017 was unusual in being largely contemporary in feel, instead of heavily relying on vintage styling as is the brand’s habit. The collection was headlined by the experimental LAB-ID Luminor 1950 Carbotech, but primarily focused on new Luminor Submersible models, including the latest Submersible Bronzo. There were a handful of intriguing watches shown but […]

SIHH 2017 Personal Perspectives: Montblanc – A Walk Through the New TimeWalker Collection

Under dapper Italian Davide Cerrato, Montblanc‘s watch division, which also owns high-end movement maker Minerva, has gradually overhauled each of its collections, with SIHH 2017 seeing the debut of the new TimeWalker. Parmigiani Ovale Pantographe ‘Guilloche’ Barley Grain Dial & Gold Movement Watch Hands-On

At SIHH 2017, Parmigiani Fleurier released two beautiful new limited-edition versions of one of my favorite watches from the brand, the Ovale Pantographe. It is largely the Parmigiani Ovale Pantographe we are familiar with, but with some newly added exclusivity for those people who wanted a good reason to spend about 60% more on the watch. To see what is new, you must literally look beyond the surface.

VIDEO: 9 of the watches the CEO of Ferrari Australasia wears the most, including AP, Richard Mille and Bell & Ross…

Collect-like-a-CEO-cartierGentlemen, start your envy… Spoiler alert, but it’s comforting that the CEO of Ferrari Australasia, Herbert Appleroth, has a watch collection befitting his station in life. And let me just say, his ‘watch box’ was the best we’ve ever seen. We’d discussed him coming in to share some of his more notable timepieces, but we weren’t fully prepared for the ‘watch box on wheels’ that he rolled up in. You’ll see what we mean, as well as what was inside – and honestly some of his watches are surprising, this is not just the usual suspects for your A-list CEO – in this high-octane four minutes of Ferrari power. It’s worth noting that in addition to this box of dreams, the magnificent Mr Appleroth also possesses several Hublot watches that will make Ferrari fans’ eyes water. You can see one of them in detail here. Perfect Saturday afternoon fodder, we hope you enjoy.
