Following up on our earlier watch spotting with director Damien Chazelle, dreamy actor Ryan Gosling was also spotted wearing a cool watch at the Golden Globes last night. Gosling was nominated and subsequently won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for his role in “La La Land,” and was sporting a vintage Rolex on the wrist in the process.

As you may have heard (or seen), the 74th Annual Golden Globes were on television last night with a bevy of stars, sequins, and, most importantly, watches. There were several noteworthy moments, Meryl Streep accepted the Cecil B. DeMille award, a tribute was paid to the late Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher, and La La Land (starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling – swoon) swept the show winning a record seven awards, including Best Musical or Comedy. The film’s director also had his wristwear majorly on point.

As the SIHH is getting closer to us, some new watches are being introduced, but not only from the usual suspects (Richemont Group brands) but also from independent watchmakers that are exposing at the ‘Carré des Horlogers’. Christophe Claret is one of them, and as you might know, the brand is not shy in creating impressive piece of haute horlogerie. For their second participation to the SIHH, they come with a watch that could almost be seen as their ‘entry-level’, yet still fitted with the great expertise of this manufacture: the Christophe Claret Maestro.
